What to Expect
Taking the steps towards a positive change can be exciting. You will want to be in the care of a team that understands YOU.
Our private office is designed for your comfort and privacy. We strive to provide prompt service that is friendly and patient-centered. You will meet with our female plastic surgeon who have the expertise, vision, and artistic eye to offer beautiful and natural-looking results.
Is Plastic Surgery Right For You?
Plastic surgery can have wonderful effects on your quality of life when the risks have been minimised and realistic expectations are present. Whether for cosmetic or reconstructive reasons, it is meant to improve your quality of life. This is a very individual decision and there are many factors at play. As plastic surgeons, we understand what it means to take this step. Our professional advice is meant to address whether you can meet your goals through cosmetic procedures and whether this can be done safely.
Generally, plastic surgery may be performed on individuals who are healthy, within a safe surgical range of body-mass index, and non-cigarette smoking/non-nicotine vaping individuals without serious diseases. This includes (but is not limited to) heart disease, lung disease, stroke, cancer, or diabetes. Plastic surgery should not be expected to improve personal relationships. High-risk individuals should not undergo plastic surgery as the high likelihood of surgical complications will not be worth the risk.

What Does a Personal Consultation Involve?
You will receive a consultation with one of our expert female surgeons to develop a personalised plan. During this consultation, the surgeon will ask questions regarding your medical history, past surgeries or treatments, and your cosmetic or functional goals. Following the discussion there will be an examination to assess whether surgery is suitable for your goal. The procedure options will be discussed as well as information regarding booking and scheduling the specific surgery of interest. We will provide written brochures with information regarding the procedures.
Once you feel comfortable and have a plan, our office will work to schedule you for your procedures. The minor ones or cosmetic injections will take place in the clinic. Surgical procedures take place in one of our many surgical locations in the greater Ottawa region. Dr. Lee has operating privileges at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and the Perth Smiths Falls District Hospital, and Arnprior Regional Health. A preoperative visit will be scheduled to review the plan, take formal “before” photos, and organise tests as needed. You can take this time for questions in a comfortable and private setting, with trusted companions present if needed.

How to Prepare for Surgery
A few weeks before surgery, you will have your medical file reviewed for safety. Follow the instructions provided. Medications may be reviewed and you will receive advice on what to take and what to stop before surgery. Post-operative wound care instructions may be obtained to prepare yourself for the recovery period.
On the day of the procedure, you will have the team of doctors and nurses introduce themselves to you, and review your health information. A family or friend may provide a contact number so we can reach you after surgery for updates. Once the procedure is over, we will provide necessary prescription medication, garments, and will review your written aftercare instructions before you go home. The office or surgeon may call you the evening of surgery or the day after to check in on how you are doing.
Your first appointment is generally within a week after surgery for an early wound check. Your dressings are checked and we make sure you are comfortable for the time being. This allows us to catch any early issues after surgery. During the period after surgery, the skin changes and you will be followed at various checkpoints for discussion on healing, swelling control, scar therapy, and touch-ups. Once the surgery has completely healed final photographs may be taken with your consent.
